Made By Mars ~
Meet our Maker: Amarah
My names Amarah, AKA Mars, and I am the creator of Made By Mars; a natural and sustainable wellbeing products & skincare business.
I am from the Dandenong ranges, so growing up amongst plenty of forests means I have always had a deep admiration and gratitude for nature. This connection was only strengthened when I started studying and delved into the magical healing powers of plants.
I combined my love of natural and holistic health with caring for the planet by ensuring my business is a sustainable and earth friendly alternative to conventional store bought products.
I believe strongly in the power of energy and how what we consume (physically, mentally, emotionally) affects us and what kind energy we emit into the world; that means I try my best to only put the best vibrations into your products. So you better believe there is plenty of dancing, love & intention stirred into every batch.
Little Hangings Jewellery ~
Meet our Maker: Renee
Hi! My name's Renee and I'm the jeweller behind Little Hangings Jewellery.
I started Little Hangings at a very uncertain time in my life. I was yo-yoing back and forth between pursuing a design career or science career, but neither felt exactly right. Then one day back in 2015 I decided to try my hand at making some jewellery for myself, and I completely fell in love! Jewellery allowed me to explore my passion for technicality and precision, whilst also allowing me to be as creative and experimental as I desired. And so Little Hangings was born!
Since then, Little Hangings has grown from my love of distinctive designs and effortless adornment. I meticulously hand-craft every piece in my Melbourne studio using local and recycled materials wherever possible. I try to keep in mind the environmental impacts and ethical implications of all aspects of my brand, and also strive to strike a harmonious balance between using materials designed for longevity and producing products that are affordable.
I am so passionate about creating pieces that people will love for years and years and I hope it shows in my work!
Jodee Creations ~
Meet our Maker: Jodie
I'm Jodie the creator behind Jodee Creations, which began from a love of for art, painting and a passion creating and designing. After running my own Graphic Designer business for 20 years I found myself craving more creative freedom a place to express ‘myself’ through my art and to unleash the artisan in me more - not just a
weekend markets! I love natural fibres, materials, earthy colours, travel and kindness - I wanted to create authentic, mindfully designed jewellery to uplift and encourage women on
My designs are inspired by my life experiences, my travels, volunteering and the incredible people I have met along the way, to the rich colours, unique cultures and beauty found within nature. My studio in Mt Evelyn in the Yarra Valley, is where I loving hand paint, design and create many of the wooden pieces including the original artworks. It’s a wonderful feeling seeing my designs being worn and bringing a smile to the wearer.
Natural Approach ~
Meet our Maker: Tracey
My name is Tracey and I am based in Mildura, Victoria.
After personally suffering from excessive sweating and undesirable body odour, I started formulating and handcrafting my own natural deodorant balm in 2017. It was a real hit with family and friends, so I decided to turn my hobby into a business.
I am passionate about sourcing ethical, organic, fair trade and sustainable natural ingredients as feel it’s important to support the local and indigenous communities who produce the ingredients, which helps them enjoy a better quality of life. I also love knowing exactly what I’m putting on my skin!
Each deodorant is carefully hand-poured into cute reusable and recyclable screw top tins. I have a wide variety of scents and sensitive skin options – something to suit everybody. I hope to bring out new products in the near future.
Overall, my mission is to do good and build healthier communities by providing products that are good for your body and the planet.
Ash White ~
Meet out Maker: Ash
I'm Ash and my creative project is Ash White Co, Illustration and Design. I’ve been a stay-at-home-mum, for the past six years and I started this little side project in order to document, create and add to my beautiful, low-tox life and share with the world, the things I’d learnt along the way.
I find creative practice to be an immensely enjoyable way of breaking up my day, slowing down, and meditating, amidst the mundane and exhaustive work of managing a household and raising a little person.
I began this project with an illustration of a recipe I’d used for sourdough bread and starter. I painted it in watercolour first then digitised the painting in Illustrator and from there I designed a nine-step comic-style illustration.
I really loved the outcome and decided to start a series of ‘how to’ illustrations with this comic, over-simplified, and cute style. From there, as I drew bits and pieces, food, flowers and plants, I really began to discover my style and the colour palette I enjoy using and have created my brand around.
Rewild co. ~
Meet our maker Amanda:
Amanda has a Perfumery Studio hidden in the mountains of the Grampians. She creates artisan perfumes and beautiful scents by hand.
Urthly Organics ~
Meet our maker Julie:
It all started from collecting soap as a child, a passion that still is with me today. For the last 22 years soap has been my life! I like to source ingredients straight from the source/grower where I can, I only use essential oils and natural colourants. Along the journey skin creams, deodorants and other products have creeped in. I now employ a few others to help keep up with demand and provide them with an income which makes me so proud of Urthly Organics to be able to do this..
Meet our Maker Gina:
KitMaii – (KitMy) Thai, meaning to ‘think new - or new way of thinking’.
Gina Galvin, the founder of KitMaii, and her family were living in Thailand and it is where she became aware of the huge amount of disposable plastic and packaging waste of our times. She knew if she felt a strong desire to reduce waste, there must be others with the same idea.
Inspired by her two children who were op shop shopping, repurposing jars and saying no to plastic straws, KitMaii was created as a place for high quality, eco-friendly, reusable items for home and daily life.
Meet our Maker Marisa
My name is Marisa and I am based in Victoria. I am currently on maternity leave as I have a little girl who is 15 months old. After settling into becoming a mum, I wanted to do something a little more and keep my creative side busy. This is how I discovered my love for creating rainbow decor. The perfect addition to any home, nursery and children’s playroom.
I first started making wall hangings over four years ago and wanted the name to replicate the uniqueness and the beauty in what I was creating.
The wall hanging soon turned into the popular macrame rainbow. We offer a range of rainbow collections, with each rainbow lovingly handmade by me.
There’s no better feeling than seeing our rainbows in their new homes.
Lilydale Candle Co. ~
Meet our maker Bettina :
We make nostalgic scented candles that evoke the senses and make your house feel like home. Based in Lilydale the gateway to the Yarra Valley, we hand pour our candles in small batches to give you the best candle possible.
We care about what you're burning so we use 100% natural soy wax (sustainable, biodegradable, plant based, paraffin free, phthalate free and vegan friendly), premium fragrance oils and cotton and paper braided wicks (lead free), for a slower burn that lasts longer.
Our ethos is simple, to design and create candles that have thought and care put into it and upholds the values of being utilitarian, small batch, handmade, quality over quantity and an aura of authenticity.
